Obituary for Conrad Reed Hayden

Conrad Reed Hayden
Conrad Reed Hayden, 82, of Northridge, California passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Northridge, with Sherrie and Sasha at his side.

He was born on September 13, 1934 in Murray, Utah to Mitchell Hayden and Laura Lottie Schultz.  He was the youngest of four children.

Reed is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Shirley Alexander, his children, Gayle Erickson, Sherrie (Marc) Hirschi, Mitchell (Cammie) Hayden, and his extended (Shirley’s) family, Debbie, Nicholas and Sasha Pardo. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Jocelynn and Tyler Drake, Xander, Marcus, Jonas, and Patrick Hayden.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Mitchell (Bud), Anna, and Janice.

Reed lived most of his life in the Salt Lake City area and later moved to California, where he lived for the last 28 years.  He loved playing cards and going on cruises with Shirley.  All who knew Reed will remember him as a kind, giving person with a great sense of humor. He was a steadfast friend and in his later years he enjoyed studying the gospel.  He took care of Shirley even when his own health deteriorated; his devotion to her never wavered.  He will be remembered as a humble, gentle man.

An Open House Celebration of Life will be held in Reed’s honor on January 21, 2017 from
1:00-3:00 p.m. at 988 West Willowmere Drive, Kaysville, Utah.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name, to the charity of your choice.
