Arnold Aristic Garey, Sr. departed this life on March 18, 2017.
Arnold was born on September 5, 1938 in Macon, Georgia to the
parentage of the late Mr. Willie David Garey. and Mrs. Elizabeth
Pinkett Garey. Arnold had two sisters (one preceded him in death,
Mattie) and six brothers (two preceded him in death, Willie and
Eddie). Arnold graduated from Maryland M. Burdell Elementary
School and Ballard Hudson High School in Macon, Georgia. Upon
graduation from Ballard Hudson, Arnold attended Morris Brown
College in Atlanta, Georgia and California State University of North-
Ridge from which he earned a Master’s Degree. He served in the United
States Air Force.

After returning from the Air Force, Arnold moved to Lincoln, Nebraska
where he was introduced to his late wife of fifty years, Vivian Edwards,
by her aunt Rosella Moore and uncle Sgt. James Moore. Arnold and
Vivian married in 1963 in Lincoln, Nebraska, subsequently moving to
Southern California. To this union two daughters were born Dana and
Diana and one son Arnold, Jr.

Arnold enjoyed a wonderful career with the Paul Hastings Law Firm,
and retired from that firm in 2006.

Arnold is survived by daughter Diana Ray (Bay Area, CA) and son Arnold
Garey, Jr. (Chatsworth, CA), spouses Antonio Ray and Maria Garey,
four grandchildren, Shawn Ray, Jordan Garey, Ty Garey and Marcus Amador, a dedicated friend Walter Williams (Simi Valley), three brothers John Alfred Garey (Riverdale, Georgia), Richard (Juanita) Garey, and Frederick Garey (Macon Georgia), one sister, Marie Garey (Henry) Lamar (Suwanee, Georgia), In-laws, the Edwards Family, and a host of other relatives and friends.
